The indicator of native plant species and subspecies evaluates and monitors the genetic diversity of production plants. The aim is to safeguard the genetic diversity of plant species. Native species, or local species, are early cultivation forms of the wild basic form of cultivated plants. Over time, they have adapted to the environmental conditions in which they have been cultivated and in which they have evolved. The indicator includes species registered as native species.
